Mohamed Nfondem
Mohamed Nfondem is an environmental scientist and natural resources management specialist with over seven years of experience in ecosystem restoration, forestry programme management, monitoring, evaluation and learning (MEL), and community-based conservation across Central Africa. He provides strategic guidance on environmental governance, sustainable landscape management, conservation planning and organizational development. He holds advanced degrees in Environmental Sciences and Natural Resources Management and is completing a PhD in Environmental Anthropology at University College London. His interdisciplinary expertise bridges environmental science, social research and natural resource governance. He has contributed to the design, implementation, monitoring and evaluation of large-scale conservation and restoration initiatives in forested landscapes across Central Africa, with experience in GIS-based mapping, impact assessment, and coordinating multi-stakeholder partnerships involving governments, local communities, development organizations and conservation institutions. He is particularly interested in innovative financing mechanisms for conservation, including REDD+ initiatives, Payment for Environmental Services (PES), and other climate finance solutions that create incentives for sustainable resource management and forest protection.
